Rehabilitation

This is a process of rebuilding in conjunction with the process of change.
Patients learn to:

Accept that they have a problem outside of their own control and its negative implications in their life.
Admit that they need help to resolve their problem, having failed to help themselves. Then to identify the sources from which help is available.
Make a committment to use these resources in order to remain abstinent and develop a better life.
Acknowledge and accept that the primary problem lies within themselves and, through developing self awareness, identify the changes in belief, attitude and values that are necessary to avoid relapse and enjoy recovery.

In this process of rebuilding we address the social problems of addiction and the means by which the patient themselves can make decisions about their behaviour. We work together to create new behaviours which are of greater benefits than the old. In focusing upon the positive development of self evaluation, self awareness, self esteem, problem solving and goal setting, patients may regain self respect in a safe, caring environment.
