Detoxification

It is usual that patients require to be withdrawn from their addiction using medication under the supervision of skilled medical and support staff.

This is usually a simple and 'clean' process which may be achieved with 7 - 16 days.

The medication used in this modern process produces positive results which are acutely felt by the patient - gone are the days of fearful detoxification. Medication is tapered off during the detoxification process according to progress.

The treatment philosophy recognises that addiction is an illness that is progressive, which can be arrested, and is susceptible to relapse if not properly treated and supportively maintained.

The six week programme is currently accessed by day patient attendance with on-site accommodation available if required.
The foundation laid in treatment is built upon through attendance at free weekly aftercare and support meetings, for a recommended minimum period of two years subsequent to discharge.
